Baypark Stadium

Home of speedway and the Bay of Plenty Steamers, the 17,500 (expandable to 19,700) capacity Baypark Stadium boasts the southern hemisphere’s biggest speedway track, sports field oval, training facilities, function centre, media facilities, 30 corporate boxes and over 4,000 onsite car parks.

Baypark’s 451m red clay speedway track is renowned for great racing and is regarded as one of the fastest tracks in New Zealand. The adjacent floodlit 22,200 m2 asphalt pit area, covered grandstands, indoor hospitality lounges and public catering outlets provide a great range of facilities and services for promoters, sporting organisations, drivers and their fans.

The completion of the new roof over the south stand in 2011, means more than 90% of Grandstand seating at the stadium is covered ensuring that fans can enjoy the event entertainment in the comfort of shelter whatever the weather.

A second sports field onsite at Baypark provides additional turf for training and event requirements.
