Graeme Elvin (Chairman)

Well known local lawyer Graeme Elvin is the Chairman of the board of directors for Tauranga City Venues Limited. Mr Elvin, who is a partner in Tauranga law firm McKenzie Elvin brings valuable experience to the position with a strong background in commercial law, governance, sport and not for profit community organisations. A keen sportsman and former representative rugby player, Mr Elvin is a current Chairman of the Chiefs Super 14 Rugby Franchise.

John Adshead (Director)

Originally born in England, John Adshead made NZ his home in the 1970's and moved to the Mount in 2006. Former head coach of New Zealand's national football team the All Whites, whom he led to their first FIFA World Cup appearance in the 1982 tournament, John was also the coach of the New Zealand Knights in the inaugural season of the A-League. In 1982 he set up his own promotions company, which has led to his involvement in many sporting and corporate events. His expertise is in the development of sport and people.

Rex Pollock (Director)

A semi retired businessman; originally from Taranaki and Rex has lived in Tauranga for the past 50 years. He was the sole shareholder & director of Todd & Pollock Group of five Companies for 42 years selling three companies in 2006. Todd & Pollock were the major sponsors of Speedway for 20 years. Rex feels strongly about supporting the local community with recycling monies into the local schools, sports clubs, local events, youth & people. Rex is still active in property developing, construction and crane hire companies. He is a life member of several organisations after spending long periods on executive committees. With a strong desire for success, Rex strives to achieve the best results for Tauranga, its businesses, its people & its facilities.

Mayor Stuart Crosby (Director)

Mayor Crosby has a strong background in Local Government. He has been an elected representative since 1986, serving as chairman on various committees and a period as Deputy Mayor. Mayor Crosby had a business background both in the electrical contracting and building industry. He now devotes all of his time to the position of Mayor both within Council and to the wider community. His vision is for a “City of all ages” based on providing for today and planning for tomorrow. Mayor Crosby is married to Lesley with one daughter Jessica and enjoys walking and motorsport for recreation.

Bernie Gillon (Director)

Bernie has spent most of his life in Tauranga. He attended Pyes Pa School and Tauranga Boys College. In 1987 Bernie was employed as General Manager of Jennian Homes in Tauranga. He then purchased not only the Tauranga Company but also the Jennian Homes Brand, which he grew to become one of New Zealand’s largest and most successful residential building companies. In 2005 when he sold the Jennian Group it had a combined turnover exceeding $100 million per annum. Bernie is a keen sportsman who has focused on motorsports in the last 20 years, he has competed successfully in New Zealand and Australia gaining championship podium finishes on both sides of the Tasman. He is very enthusiastic about being appointed to the Board of TCVL as he believes that Baypark Stadium will become one of the leading Event Venues in New Zealand, which will not only provide a wide range of entertainment options for the community but also provide significant employment and revenue to the Tauranga District.

Daryl French (Director)

Daryl has been part of the ICT industry for over 25 years, mainly in sales, marketing and senior management roles. Previously I was with IBM Asia Pacific until recently returning to a Organisational Development role for IBM NZ. I am a founding Director of the NZ ICT association, and am still a sitting Board member. I have a long time relationship with Business Mentors NZ & the Chamber of Commerce and locally am a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, the Western BOP Investors Forum and a Director of Stoney Creek clothing. I am a very keen trout fisherman writing a regular column, and have a genuine interest in all sports. I strongly believe Baypark has huge potential and am looking forward to working with the existing team to realise that, for the benefit of all people living in the Bay.
